Well, here we are! Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia: land of blue sky. The city is home to over one million people living in apartments to houses to the traditional gers of the nomadic herdsmen of the plains of Mongolia. Arriving in Mongolia in March of this year, the temperature was a chilly -10° F with wind and snow on the ground. The temperature today was a balmy 63° F with full sun and no snow to be found. We will explore the people, food, monuments, and history of this city and country through the eyes of an English teacher – transplanted from Oregon into this wonderful world of Chinggis Khaan and his descendants.
